Werent we told that if the stimulus wasn’t passed, unemployment could hit 8%?? Makes you feel even better knowing that Congress is trying to pass this ridiculous Health Care reform instead of workingto get our economy straight doesn’t it? Seems like they are bent on making this recession worse. Raising cost on tax payers and expecting states to foot more of the bill with fewer taxpayers just doesn’t seem like good business to me.

Think about what exactly 10% unemployment is, visualize it. Today when you go to the store or drive around or whatever, count 10 people and then try to figure out which one is unemployed.

I believe that our economy is very resilient and would have naturally rebounded from the recession if govt would just get out of the way and let the American people do their thing. Stop playing social experiments. Stop trying to manipulate areas of the free market. Stop adding debt that is going to make it harder to recover.

As for health reform, do we need it? Absolutely

Do we need what the govt is currently proposing? No

Get the govt out of the way. Get special interest groups out of the way. Let  the free market do its thing because it is becoming more and more obvious that Obama’s grandstanding promises and big talk are getting us further in the hole.

As I understand it, this was a $247 billion medicare doctor reimbursement program which should have been part of the Obamacare package. Problem is the “Doctor Fix” would have pushed Obamacare well over the arbitrary $900 billion line in the sand.

So what did the Senate do? They pulled the “Doctor Fix” out of the health care package, made it it’s own bill and tried to add the $247 billion to the deficit thus keeping the Obamacare number down.

HOW LAZY AND DECIETFUL CAN YOU BE?!? WHAT PART OF “RECORD DEFICIT” DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND?!?

 Didn’t Madoff go to jail for playing with numbers like this? Maybe we should go to Washington and make a Citizen’s Arrest.

Senator Debbie Stabenow called this “honest budgeting”. Wait what? Honest budgeting? This is more like paying off credit cards with credit cards. Problem is the Senate is trying to buy things we don’t need with credit cards that are waaaaaaaaaay over the limit. And on a side thought here, what the heck does Stabenow consider DIS-honest budgeting?

So much infact, that I am beginning to believe that these people call it historic because they dont know anything else about it. They just want to be part of history, kinda like how the media wanted to be part of Obama’s election. But that is beside the point.

The point is, government takeover of 1/6th of our economy shouldnt be something you do so you can get in with the Beltway cool club. Obama, Pelosi, Baucus and most liberals have glorified it’s historic value. Today Senator Snowe drank the Kool-Aid and said to her coleagues that dispite her mis-givings, when history calls, it calls.

And then I start to wonder what kind of expectations other types of businesses put on their employees. Here is what came to mind:

-Fast food employees are expected to know that the burger goes inside the bun

-Accountants are expected to know how to add

-School bus drivers must know where to pick up the kids

-Prostitutes must know how much to give their pimps

-Surgeons need to know the body parts so they dont remove a lung instead of a finger

And so on and so on until I came to our Congress people……. Especially the ones in this Senate Finance Committee we keep hearing about. Now reading the title ( say it again to yourself a few times ), one would think that these people would be good at, oh I dont know, finances? But as these people get ready to vote on their 829 billion ( $829,000,000,000) dollar bill, they admit that they dont know how this thing will effect everyone.

 Wait? What?

 You dont know what it will do to premiums for those who already have insurance? You cant show exactly where the money will come from? You dont know how it will hit the self-employed, i.e. small business owners? And so on and so on…

Now apply this lack of knowledge to the scenarios above or to your job. How would you justify your incompetence to your employer? How would you even keep your job?

 My friends, we are being given a sub-standard Congressional performance and they do not seem to care. They seem to think that the Beltway Gang only answers to the Beltway Gang and that voters are just an election year obligation. It doesn’t matter if you support the health care reform or not, you should still expect your elected officials to do their jobs, read the bills and know the impact of their actions.

Yesterday, while the Senate Finance Committee debated this massive Baucus health care bill, a measure was proposed that would have the health care bill that the committee would be voting on posted on it’s website (in its full legislative language, not conceptual) for 72 hours for the public to review. All the liberals with the exception of Senator Lincoln from Arkansas, shot it down saying it is tradition to work from the conceptual language. They then proposed and passed a measure offering the conceptual language and CBO analysis.

This raises several questions to me:
-Can the CBO give accurate numbers based on conceptual language?
Answer is NO per the CBO!

-Since when is it “tradition” to pass legislature that affects 1/6th of our GDP?
IT’S NOT!!! Stop treating it like it is no big deal. Do your damn job and educate yourself and the taxpayers on what you are proposing.

-Why cant we read the bill before you vote on it?
-Why can’t we have real numbers to look at?
-What are you afraid of?
-Where is the transparency?
-What is the hurry?

Seems he voted to give health care to illegals in the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250 million annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants..

Well if you look into the Sec.1011 of the bill, that is the only little part of this otherwise billion page bill, It actually helps reimburse the hospitals for providing EMERGENCY SERVICES to ILLEGALS. Basically trying to help the hospitals with the cost incurred from not turning away these illegals when they need help after cutting off their fingers.
